Cybersecurity Compliance
To keep our data safe and maintain our insurance, we need to verify that every World Orphans device has active security measures.
Action Required
Please complete this process by January 31, Annually.
Why are we doing this?
As part of our compliance for cybersecurity insurance, we are required to verify that every computer used for work (laptop/PC) has basic security measures active. This ensures that if we are ever targeted by cyberattacks, our insurance will cover us.
Don’t worry! While these instructions look detailed, the process is straightforward and quick. You just need to take two screenshots showing: 1. Firewall is ON and 2. Antivirus is Active.

Prove Security Updates
Go to System Settings > General > Software Update.
Click the little i (info circle) next to “Automatic Updates.”
Make sure “Install Security Responses and system files” is toggled ON.
Since Macs don’t have an “Antivirus” window to open, we must prove your system is receiving Apple’s background security updates (XProtect).
📸 Take Screenshot #2 showing “Install Security Responses” is ON.
